Why choose a birth doula?
As your doula, I’ll help you feel calm, confident, and prepared as you welcome your baby.
I’ve supported families through first births, subsequent births, VBAC, HBAC, water births, and hypnobirthing journeys. I’m trained in the Biomechanics of Birth with Molly O’Brien, giving me practical knowledge of movement, positioning, and comfort strategies to support your birth.
A doula brings:
- continuity of care
- a shorter labour and less need for induction
- less need for pain relief
- a lower chance of a caesarean
- greater success with breastfeeding
- a more positive birth experience overall
My role as your Birth Doula is to learn about your hopes and fears surrounding your birth and to work together as a team.
What I do –
- I offer emotional and practical support throughout your pregnancy and during birth
- I support you and your partner/husband (if applicable) 100% in your choices about the kind of birth you want, whatever that may involve.
- I draw on my knowledge and experience and can provide suggestions and/or information about pregnancy, birth and comfort during birth, bonding, feeding and the postnatal period to help you make informed choices.
- I will be excited about supporting you and the birth of your baby!
What I don’t do –
- I don’t offer medical advice or medical examinations
- I won’t get in between you and your partner/husband (if applicable) rather support you both and/or support him to support you.
- I won’t try to persuade you to change your mind about the birth you want (rather support you by providing information to help you make informed choices).
Birth Doula Packages
Standard Birth Package
- 3 antenatal visits and telephone/whatsapp support throughout your pregnancy
- On call from 38wks.
- 1 postnatal visit, birth reflection support and up to 6 weeks telephone/whatsapp support (further postnatal visits/support can be arranged under a different agrement if needed)
Enhanced Birth Package
- 5 antenatal visits.
- Whatsapp and phone support throughout your pregnancy
- I go on call at 38wks (longer window can be arranged if circumstances require)
- Preparing to Parent, Supporting your Toddler/older Sibling or Infant Sleep 1-1.
- 2 postnatal visits including 1 full birth reflection session and additional check in during the 4 week postpartum.
- Up to 6 weeks whatsapp and phone support (further postnatal visits/support can be arranged under a different agrement if needed)
