What is a doula

How a doula supports birth

Understanding birth

A doula recognises birth's unique rhythm – moments of intensity, calm and flow. I understand that creating safety allows your hormones to work naturally, helping your body do what it's designed to do during labour.

Constantly supportive

I will spend time understanding your birth wishes and become a familiar, calming presence. Available anytime day or night, she supports you throughout pregnancy, birth and beyond, ensuring you feel completely confident and informed.

Practical & comforting

Drawing on my toolkit of wisdom, I will offer comfort and coping strategies, such as light touch, hands on techniques and using my knowledge of birth biomechanics to enhance physiological progress. I will make sure you remain nourished and hydrated and provide calm, consistent support to you and your partner throughout the process.
