Is dealing with your toddler a daily battle?

Life with a toddler in the throes of the terrible twos / threenagers / fearsome fours can be overwhelming – and more than a little hard.

With so much conflicting advice, how do you know what to do for the best?

I help tired, stressed parents like you understand what’s really happening in your toddler’s developing brain and give you practical, gentle strategies to make life easier.

Understanding your toddler

Coming out of the baby stage and living with a toddler who has their own opinions can be a genuine shock. Life with toddlers aged 1-4 is challenging throughout their development – but it can also be a lot of fun when you understand what’s happening.

Your toddler isn’t being difficult on purpose. They’re navigating:

  • Huge brain development that they can’t yet control
  • Big emotions without the words to express them
  • Growing independence while still needing you desperately
  • Sensory overwhelm in a world designed for adults
  • Physical and neurological changes happening daily

When you understand the why behind the behaviour, everything changes.

Gentle & Evidence-Based Approach

(No Time-Outs or Reward Charts Required)

I offer a space for you to explore your parenting instincts and really tune into what feels right for you – without judgment, pressure, or one-size-fits-all solutions.

What makes my approach different:

  • Evidence-based information – not opinions or outdated advice
  • Gentle techniques tailored to your unique family
  • Long-term solutions that build connection, not compliance
  • Support for you as well as strategies for your child
  • Realistic expectations based on child development research

We’ll explore mainstream parenting approaches (time-out, reward charts, etc.) and look at the pros and cons for your family. Then I’ll guide you through the CalmFamily approach to parenting – giving you tools to communicate so your child actually listens and ways to support their development without constant battles.
